Symmetrical Grid System
You first need to decide on the size of your document but you need to make sure the proportions are 2:3. For example, if your height is 20cm, then your width needs to be 30cm.
We will start by drawing out our guide lines. First half the page into two. Next, draw two diagonal lines across the entire page. Then finally draw two diagonal lines on each of the half pages from bottom to top.
We will next divide the page into 9th’s running horizontally. You can also try twelves too. This is basically a trail and error process and also based on personal preference.
We shall now add the content area where all of your body text will appear.
This yellow line, in my opinion, is the most important and useful part. This line divides both our page and content area into thirds. More about the rule of thirds in up coming posts.
